St. Margaret's Tied for 5th at California Mathematics League Contest

California Mathematics League announced 2005-2006 middle school competition results. St. Margaret's Episcopal School tied for 5th at the 7th grade. Johnny Li of St. Margaret's tied for 1st.

2005 - 2006 California Mathematics League announced its results for middle school grades.  St. Margaret's Episcopal School tied for 5th in the state and Johnny Li of St. Margaret's is one of the four state winners receiving a perfect mark on the contest.

Several Orange County schools are among the winners in Region 7 that consisits of schools in Orange and San Diego County.

In the 6th grade division, Ethel Dwyer Middle School of Huntington Beach tied in 3rd with a team score of 170.

In the 7th grade division, St. Margaret's Episcopal School of San Juan Capistrano finished first with a team score of 183.

In the 8th grade division, Bernardo Yorba Middle School of Yorba Linda finished in 4th with a team score of 160.

Individually, three St. Margaret's students finished in the top 5 in Region 7:

  • Johnny Li, 1st
  • Michael Levitin, 3rd (tie)
  • Alex Pusey, 3rd (tie)
