California Finished 10th in National MATHCOUNTS

National MATHCOUNTS were held this weekend. California uncharacteristically dropped out of top five.


California fields strong MATHCOUNTS teams year after year, but this year's team dropped out of top five for the first time this decade by finishing 10th.  The top individual finish is 9th place by Rolland Wu of Redwood Middle School.

Nationally, Neal Wu, last year's COUNTDOWN Champian finished first in written.  Daesun Yim finished first in COUNTDOWN and Virginia finished first in team competition.
