2006 US Physics Team Semi-Finalists Announced

High school students are nominated by their physics teachers to take the Physics Olympiad Screening Exams which are used each year to help select members for the United State Physics Team. The Preliminary Screening Exam consists of a Multiple Choice Exam that has thirty questions and an Open Response Exam that has four questions. The Multiple Choice Exam has a time limit of forty minutes and the Open Response Exam has a time limit of 60 minutes. The two hundred students who have the highest score on the Preliminary Screening Exam are invited to take the Semi-Final Exam which consists of six problems and has a time limit of 180 minutes.
