Who Wants to Be a Mathematician, is hosted by the American Mathematical Society and involves high school students competing for cash and prizes by answering multiple choice mathematics questions. The 2011 national contest will take place Friday, January 7 at the Joint Mathematics Meetings in New Orleans.  Contestants will be selected based on their scores on the qualifying exam.

For Avid students interested in taking the exam, Avid is hosting a free event where it will distribute the qualifying exam on Sunday, October 17 from 2:00 - 2:30 pm at Concordia University, Room LA122.
