Session A-III: Intermediate Algebra Problem Solving
The Intermediate Algebra Problem Solving program is designed for students who will be taking Algebra II or Precalculus during the 2008 - 2009 academic year. It focuses on the algebriac techniques common to SAT II Math and AMC 10/12 exams. To qualify, you must either be an Avid Academy student in good standing or meet the following minimum qualification:
- A in Honors Geometry or
- A in Honors Algebra II
Students who did not take AMC exams should schedule a qualifying exam at Avid Academy.
Session B-III: Introductory Physics Olympiad Problem Solving
The Introductory Physics Olympiad program is designed for students who will be taking AP Physics or preparing for U.S. Physics Olympiad exams during the 2008 - 2009 academic year. It focuses on the mathematical principles of physics and Newton Mechanics. To qualify, you must either be an Avid Academy student in good standing or meet the following minimum qualificatin:
- A in Honors Algebra II or
- A in Honors Precalculus
Our camp is limited to 25 students in grades 9-11 per session. To receive personalized attention, you will be placed into small groups according to problem solving experience. If you are bright and talented, eager to explore advanced math topics, and motivated to solve challenging problems, come join other gifted students to make this summer enjoyable and meaningful.
